 Meet Dillon – a Colorado licensed architect who designs breathtaking custom homes that feel like an extension of how you want to live.

After earning his architecture degree from the University of Colorado Denver and then working for one of Boulder’s most celebrated design firms, Dillon helped shape award-winning mountain communities filled with custom residences, modern townhomes, and gathering spaces that bring people together. What started as a passion for thoughtful, connected design quickly became his signature.

Rather than follow the traditional path to graduate school, Dillon and his wife designed and built their own modern mountain retreat deep in the Colorado Rockies – handling every detail from concept to completion. At the same time, he served as Architectural Design Manager for an innovative prefabricated home builder, pushing the boundaries of efficiency, beauty, and constructability while leading teams and managing the full lifecycle of cutting-edge residential projects.

In 2024, Dillon earned his architecture license from his home state and brought his eight years of hands-on design, construction, and leadership experience to Southern California. Now based in San Diego with SK7, he specializes in crafting custom coastal homes and hospitality projects that blend indoor-outdoor living, timeless craftsmanship, and the refined, laid-back luxury that only Southern California can offer.

Whether it’s a bluff-top modern masterpiece in La Jolla, a warm contemporary retreat in Rancho Santa Fe, or a sleek beach house in Encinitas, Dillon approaches every project with the same energy he once poured into his own mountain home: turning your vision into a home that’s unmistakably yours, built to the highest standards, and designed for the way you actually live, gather, and unwind beneath the California sun.

When he’s not on site or sketching your dream home, you’ll find Dillon chasing waves on a surfboard, exploring the coast by sailboat, or hiking the Laguna Coast Wilderness with his dog – perpetually inspired by the same ocean breezes and golden light that will one day flow through the home he’s designing for you.

Sam comes from a long line of architects, artists, and builders, and he is proud to carry on the family tradition of creating beautiful things that enhance people’s lives. Growing up around creative people, he caught the bug early, and by the time he was ready to go to college, he had no doubt as to what he wanted to do with his life. 

Combining an affinity for elegant, beautiful, functional design and a strong Midwestern work ethic, Sam pursued his dream with enthusiasm and passion. After earning a degree in architecture from the University of Minnesota in 2005, he went to work for an award-winning design / build / construction company, cutting his teeth on new custom-home projects, remodels, and additions.

In 2008, Sam set out for California, where he earned his Master’s degree from San Diego’s prestigious New School of Architecture and Design, and then launched his own architectural design studio, sk7. Under Sam’s leadership, sk7 has become one of Southern California’s premier residential architecture firms, helping clients realize their dreams of living in beautiful, highly functional homes.
